How Sage Intacct Helped Sintrex Replace a Month-Long Budgeting Process

From Paper Piles to a Paperless Finance Team

When Financial Director Elzeth Hamman looked at what her four-person finance team was spending their time on, the picture was clear: too much capturing, not enough thinking. What Changed

AP Automation saved 3–4 days every month. Using AI and OCR technology, invoices are now automatically matched to purchase orders — eliminating manual data capture and the human error that came with it.

Audits went from 3 weeks to 4 days. By giving auditors direct viewing rights inside Sage Intacct, the entire audit process — journals, approvals, digital attachments — became self-service. What used to dominate the calendar now wraps up in a single month.

Timesheet data became a compliance asset. A customised timesheet module now captures labour costs for in-house software development, allowing Sintrex to accurately capitalise their software on the balance sheet in line with IFRS standards.

Real-time dashboards replaced reactive reporting. Leadership now has live visibility into departmental costs, enabling proactive contract management and better negotiating leverage — before problems arise, not after.
